On my keyboard the twenty-six letters of the alphabet stand in three neat little rows, awaiting orders. In my studio roughly the same number of tubes of acrylic paint lie expectantly in three boxes sorted by color. These are the materials I use to translate, with joy, to the page or canvas what I see and imagine about the world.
